Welcome to Tamed By Taylor! I'm Taylor Robinson, owner and stylist. I'm so glad you're here! I began my career as a hairstylist in 2014. I enjoy giving my clients a fresh look and an updated style but my passions are blonding, balayage, and cuts. Some of my favorite haircuts are a stacked bob, classic long layers, pixies and clipper cuts. I pride myself in being able to offer my clients cost efficient yet high quality services. Getting to know my clients and hearing all their stories and adventures is my favorite part of being a stylist. I am a native of Newport News, VA and when I'm not at the salon I can be most often found spending time with my husband, sons, and animals, Daisy, the cockatiel, and Eloise, the basset hound. I can't wait to see you in my chair! While bringing me coffee is NEVER expected or necessary I am often asked what my order is from Starbucks. If it is before 3pm, my go to order is an iced chai latte with oat milk, 4 pumps of chai, 2 pumps of brown sugar, and 1 pump of vanilla. It’s like a cookie in a cup! I will also never turn down a pink drink. Proudly using Schwarzkopf Color _________________________________________________________ Policies Please Read Carefully Booking A card is required when booking an appointment. This is just to secure your appointment. Your card is NOT charged and your services are NOT prepaid. The only time a charge is incurred is when the cancellation policy is broken. The cancellation policy can be found below. Please make sure that when booking your appointment that you are booking for ALL of the required services to reach your desired outcome. This includes but is not limited to toners, blowouts, clarifying treatments or haircuts. This allows me to insure that I will have enough time to achieve your desired look. If you have any questions about what services are necessary for you or how to book them please don’t hesitate to reach out or you can book a consultation so that we can formulate a game plan for you hair. A consultation is the only way to get an accurate price quote for your appointment. If you do not see your desired appointment time please do not hesitate to reach out. I strive to be as accommodating as possible while still having work life balance. Minors Consent from a parent or guardian will be required for any minor guest, even if they are able to drive themselves, if they are receiving any kind of chemical service which will include an understanding of the services to be performed and a price quote. Before Your Appointment If you are receiving any type of blonding service please refrain from using any purple or blue shampoo/conditioner for a week before your appointment. This helps to ensure the outcome you are desiring and allows me to see how your hair is naturally fading and what I am working with. If you are receiving any type of root color service please refrain from using any type of root cover up the day before and the day of your appointment. Having this on your scalp makes it harder for the color to do its job. Please do your best to avoid wearing turtlenecks, large hoodies or jackets or any bulky sweaters that you cannot remove as it may be at risk of staining or getting wet. Please brush and detangle your hair before coming to your appointment. De-matting can be timely and eat into your service time. Dirty hair is not always better. Please come with clean hair, washed within 48-72 hrs before your appointment. If you are getting an on scalp bleach service please do not wash your hair the night before because this can lead to scalp irritation. Arrival Please do not arrive early for your appointment as there is not adequate waiting space in the suite and there is not always space in the hallway. Each client is deserving of their privacy and appointment time and this allows me to ensure that. Late Arrival There is a 10 minute grace period if you are running late to your appointment. Arriving 10 minutes or later will result in your appointment being cancelled and a cancellation fee. I understand things happen but please communicate your late arrival with me. Sometimes a late arrival may result in having to skip a haircut or blow dry so I can complete your services without running into the next appointment. Communicating that you are running late with me is key to ensure that your appointment is not cancelled and you are accommodated to the best of my ability. Waxing The use of any topical prescription acne creams or taking the medication, Accutane (Isotretinoin) is a contraindication for any waxing service. No waxing service will be performed on any client using any of the mentioned medications because it puts the client at risk of injury. Client Satisfaction & Redo’s If you are unhappy with the results of your service please contact me within 7 days of your appointment so that I can get you back in as soon as possible for any necessary adjustments. These adjustments will be free of charge to you. If you try to adjust your hair at home or go to another salon this will void your free adjustment within the 7 day window. This includes but is not limited to toners, purple/blue shampoo, glosses, clarifying shampoo or color depositing conditioners and clendtioners, and haircuts. If you contact me outside for the 7 day window you will be charged for any adjustments made. If you see something you do not love while you are still at your appointment please speak up and let me know, I can ensure you I will not be mad or upset but this allows me the opportunity to make any necessary changes before you leave. My clients being happy with their hair is always the most important thing to me. Limitations of Liability for Service Outcomes While I always strive to provide my clients with the highest quality services I cannot guarantee specific results without your honesty. If you lie about…. * What is on your hair * Your hair history * What you use on your hair at home * Any allergies * Any medications you are on There is a much higher probability your hair does not turn out as desired. I rely on my clients to be honest about box color and any drug store products so that I can handle your hair with the care necessary to achieve your desired results without compromising your hair. This is a judgment free zone so please don’t feel embarrassed about any of your hair history. If you are not using the proper care and maintenance at home I cannot guarantee your color will last or fade well. I understand name brand hair products can be costly and not in everyone’s budget but using them can impact the lasting results of your color and the health of your hair. ________________________________________________________ By booking an appointment with Taylor you agree to the policies and understand that if you do not adhere to these policies Taylor has the right to refuse future services. Cancellation Policy
A 50% cancellation fee or $100, which ever is the least amount, will be charged for no-shows or cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment. Extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis. Multiple no shows or cancellations will require a deposit in order to book any future appointments. There is a 10 minute grace period when running late to appointments, if you are 10 mins or later to your appointment you will forfeit the right to your appointment and incur a cancellation fee.
